My hair used to be very thick when I was younger, but it has progressively thinned down. (first world problems alert!) Could be all the heat mistreatment, smoking, alcohol, diet…unfortunately there are so many factors affecting our hair. For the past 4 years, I have been a huge fan of long hair so I try to maintain a pretty long length. But it comes with a price, the longer the hair, the less volume in the roots 😀 . And let’s be honest, we all love a voluminous mane 😀 .
So today I will share the products I have been using lately to keep my hair voluminous (very suitable for the ladies and gents that are on a budget).
Volumizing Products for Long Hair
SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
For the past few months I have been using Aussie VOLUME shampoo and Conditioner and they are So good! I am so inlove with these products. They give such great volume without drying out the hair too much or making it look stiff. I usually would blow dry with my hair upside down to add even more volume to the roots. Again really affordable products that do what they promise! (Price range 60 – 80 dkk)
Batiste’s dry shampoos, are deff. my favorite. I have a relatively light hair colour, so the fact that the powder is white doesn’t bother me. If you however have dark hair, this one probably won’t work very well for you. One thing I don’t like about this one is that the perfume is TOO STRONG and I personally can spot it from a distance 😀 . Sooo it just gives all your secrets away. 😀 But yeah, it not only absorbs the excess oils in the hair roots, but gives quite a bit of volume, so I use it as a texture spray aswell. (Price range 30 – 80 dkk)
I use L’OREAL Paris’s Texture spray (it’s available in very few places, so every time I see it somewhere, I get few just in case it disappears again :D) to get more volume. Usually I turn my head upside down and spray all over my hair. I don’t go directly for the roots, but in the area. It definitely adds texture and definition to the hair, however it can be drying so I try not to use it too often. Generally I am happy with the volume it adds, but it is important to know that it does not act as a dry shampoo 😀 . It has a hold effect and if you use too much it will make your hair looking stiff. On the positive not, it’s really affordable and it smells great! (Price range 30-60 dkk )
GOOD OL’ BACKCOMB
Yeah yeah, it’s horrible for the hair. I can almost hear my mom “You know you gonna loose all your hair like that, right? ALL!! ” . It is quite bad but from time to time we just need that crazy Victoria Secret runway voluminous hair, to get us through daily b*shit. For example, when you get busted by the gym police 😀 ! (oh yes, I just referenced to my own entry, I have no shame 😀 !)
Anywaays, I hope you guys enjoyed this short entry and it gave you some ideas of how to get your mane in the air when on a budget 😀 . Stay tuned as soon I will share my hair remedies that keep my hair healthy and help me grow it longer!
Here you can see how I get this curled hair style :).
