Life in Denmark

Copenhagen is a really attractive city, so full of life, energy and no less character. It’s been roughly 4 weeks since we moved here, and all I could think of is why didn’t we do this sooner? The feeling of euphoria is still very strong, so I almost can’t trust my current opinions. But one thing I know for sure…Being here feels right. I feel like I belong, and this is definitely where I should be right here and right now. Past year was filled with so many question marks, concerns and a general feeling of being lost. Moving here…

Since the beginning of 2018, I was really craving a change, and that change came in the shape of filling a very anticipated address form. 💌  I visited Copenhagen few times this year, and it stole my heart.🏙I fell involve with Denmark all over again☙ Aalborg is a great town and it will always have a very special place in my heart, but it was time to say goodbye 🌊 💭 I am very grateful I was able to make this change in my life together with my Andreas, and am so excited to explore this completely different side of Denmark 🌉 The actual moving was seamless…

Hey guys, hope you are well :).  I will be adding a new section to the blog dedicated to Denmark and life in Denmark as a foreigner :). The topics will be touching upon matters like work, making friends, language, traditions, beauty & fashion and all in between. All just from my perspective and my experience. The first topic might seem a little less important, but I get many questions about it, and I think it’s a good thing to consider when moving to Denmark. prices of beauty procedures in Denmark So how expensive are beauty procedures and products in…

Grøn Koncert in Aalborg Grøn Koncert in Aalborg was a total blast! It was a first for me this year, and I am so happy with how it all went down. I got the tickets as a birthday present for Andreas as he loves concerts. Also, I really wanted to see The Minds of 99 perform live. Noone gets a crowd going, with so little effort, like those guys. In general, the quality of all performances was pretty good. The confetti didn’t hurt either. I get SO excited by confetti, fire and all those exaggerations at concerts :D. The weather was…

rituals event in aalborg Hey guys, hope you are well 🙂 . Two weeks I was invited to a cozy event at Rituals in Aalborg, where I and few other local lifestyle bloggers got to learn more about the brand and the products while enjoying bubbles and chocolate. I was familiar with the brand from before and was already obsessed with their Sakura line, but it was really nice to learn more about the history and how it has evolved. the event  The event was really lovely. We were introduced to every line and the inspirations behind. The store managers had prepared all…

Aalborg street food, carbs, and giggles Hey guys, hope you are well. This weekend was a total bliss. The weather was absolutely amazing, and I managed to spend time with some of my favorite people doing my favorite things – eating carbs, dancing, giggling and enjoying the good weather.  I even got sunburnt  #summergoals. After a week with lots of work and constant rain, some chill in the sun was necessary to keep me sane. The pain I have in my legs today from all the walks and midnight dancing is a sweet, sweet pain I am so, very grateful for.…

Lifestyle event with Caré in Aalborg Hey guys, hope you are well! Yesterday was a good day, and I am happy to share few snaps of it with you. It’s not like anything extraordinary happened but I was just feeling so good. I tried a “gratitude” exercise in the morning that just set my day in the right direction. I started by writing down the things in my life that I take for granted. Damn that was a long list. By the time the list was done I was already feeling like I have so much good in my life…

Weekend fun in Aalborg, so many things to do Hey guys, hope you are well 🙂 Today I am so, very happy, as I passed my Danish speaking exam this morning! And not only that I passed but I passed with a 12! 😀 So grateful for it. Anywho, hope you had a great weekend, I sure did! There was a lot going on in town, I absolutely love Aalborg in the summer time. “Summer” is quite a stretch though, I don’t think we have seen the sun since Karneval :D. Hoping for some better weather soon. Saturday I spent the whole…

Passed my pd3 Danish exam  So unbelievable! I am so extremely grateful to the universe, God or whatever higher power is accountable for that to happen 😀 .  I didn’t have time or motivation to study for it at all, so I expected to fail and I went to the exam with that mind set. It wasn’t about feeling guilty, or ashamed or anything. I just didn’t have any expectations of passing, because I didn’t put any effort in studying.  Of course when the exam started I concentrated and gave my absolute best, but was pretty sure I failed it…

Tapas date at D’wine in Aalborg Happy Monday guys, hope you are well and had a great weekend. I sure did! It was almost 4 days weekend for me! How lucky am I, right 😀 . It was pretty active relaxing all the days, the weather was too amazing to be wasted on not being outside and not doing something awesome. I spent a lot of time with my inlaws too which always recharges me, and reminds me how much more work I need on my Danish 😀 .  Anyways, I always feel so much better after spending time with them. It’s…

Aalborg Carnival 2017 – Gatsby, glitter, and heavy make up Hey, guys, hope you are well, and I hope you had a great carnival! Aalborg Carnival is something everyone should experience at least once. I find it absolutely amazing so many people gather up to actively participate in. The proportions of it are mind blowing, especially in relation to the size of Denmark and Aalborg in particular. This year there was a new record set, over 70 000 people from all over Denmark participated :O. The weather was absolutely amazing, and the warmest day we have had this year yet.…

Hygge Hygge… hmm yes, such a simple word and yet a complicated concept. Most of you have probably heard of it, but in case you haven’t, in short hygge is a Danish concept spreading all over the world, that can be described as ” enjoying cosy time with loved ones, unwinding from everyday burdens, while enjoying some board games, hot chocolate & giggles”.. Today I am sharing with you 5 hygge essentials for the ULTIMATE hygge evening (as it’s recommended that you hygge in the evening ). CANDLES Most importantly, cannot stress enough, how important this is to hygge, CANDLES! Get a lot of candles…

Danish pd3 exam, it’s time Signed up for my Danish exam today… Boy oh boy the stress… Most of you probably know I live in Denmark but I am not Danish. I do however want to learn and freely speak Danish. It’s not only the language barrier (that takes the life away from me), but simply because I really like the language. I love the way it sounds, I love how unique it is and how little popular it is outside Scandinavia. So speaking Danish for a non-scandinavian is almost a super power 😀 .  Danish is pretty hard, and…

my sister is visiting me in Aalborg, yey! Yeps! My sister is in town for the first time since I moved here almost 5 years ago! 😀 You can imagine my excitement :D. She arrived Monday, but I have been spending most of my time in the office, as it’s my first official week at the new job, so we haven’t had that much fun yet. We did manage however to take few walks in town and grab some coffee. Something I really really appreciate about her visiting also how it changes my way of seeing things. When I have been…

Danish language is beautiful but just as complicated and complex. As a non-dane, I have my struggles with Danish like everybody else.

There are many ways to learn a language. Talk, talk, talk, practise, practise, practise we have heard them all. Of course that is nowhere near enough to learn the language, as If you don’t have the vocabulary it could get real boring real fast

For me the most interesting way to observe, listen, and learn authentic Danish, is through TV shows with Danish subtitles. There I can learn a lot of new words and expressions I can practise later in everyday conversations.
